The Masters are in full swing. Through-ish two days of the storied tournament, a former champion, Brooks Koepka, 2019 Masters Champion leads the pack with a score of -5. Inclement weather conditions have stalled the tourney until Saturday. A lot of talk about the LIV guys not being competitive seemed to miss Brooks. As we await our cut, let’s take a look at the current odds to win the tournament.

Draft Kings/Fan Duel Spotlight

No-brainer:

The Los Angeles Clippers do have something to play for. Fighting with the Golden State Warriors for the No. 5 seed, Kawhi Leonard will again be asked to shoulder the load, with Paul George on the mend. Leonard over his last ten games: 24/6/4, is shooting 43% from behind the three-point line.

Low-hanging fruit:

The Toronto Raptors are jockeying for position and looking to avoid the play-in. Needing some help from the Atlanta Hawks, they could secure a No. 8 seed if the Hawks lose and the Ratpors close out with a win. O.G. Anunoby has been on fire. Over his last ten games: 17/4/2, shooting 42% from long range. His value and importance will exceed his DFS costs.

News:

MLB:

Did you have Tampa Bay as the best team in baseball on your Bingo card? Granted it’s early, but solid pitching, sound defense and timely hitting wins baseball games, and Tampa is doing just that, starting the season 7-0 and leading the AL East. The Minnesota Twins lead the AL Central, and get this… The first-place Los Angeles Angels are 4-2. One more time, the first-place Los Angeles Angels. sent tweet…

Speaking of pitching, the NL Central favorite St. Louis Cardinals apparently have none. The Milwaukee Brewers always bring the arms, and this season have brought the bats too. The Brew Crew is 6-1, but the most surprising team in the Majors is the Pittsburgh Pirates, at 5-2. The Los Angeles Dodgers lead the NL West and the Atlanta Braves lead the stacked NL East despite missing two of their top starters.

The current odds for the next World Series Champion

NBA:

Somehow, some way the Dallas Mavericks have managed to miss the playoffs. Head Coach, Jason Kidd sitting his superstars in a must-win game will certainly give some pause, and it should. Pivoting to tanking in the last week of the season seems strange, especially given the fact the Mavs are unlikely to hold a pick greater than No. 10; and are ineligible for the lottery. The Kyrie Irving situation is fluid, and despite Mark Cuban’s best efforts, whatever those will be, few believe Irving will be back in Dallas.

Several teams have picked up the pace, and are getting hot at the right time. Our favorite long-shot, high-value pick for NBA Champion are:

  • New Orleans Pelicans: +24000

  • Atlanta Hawks: +18000

  • Brooklyn Nets: +37000

Current odds to win the NBA Championship:

NHL:

The Boston Bruins have won 61 games to only 12 losses, and appear to be on a train to the NHL finals. Their toughest challenge may come in their own conference. Four of the top six teams in the league all reside east. The Carolina Hurricanes, New Jersey Devils, Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers have all eclipsed the 100-point mark.

Current odds to win the Stanley Cup:

Man Down

It’s that fun time of the year where we get to play our least favorite game. Are they really hurt or is there nothing to play for, and they are resting? If you are a fan of the NBA, you know this comes around the last two weeks of every season since 2009. With no penalty for teams for doing so, it is unlikely it changes anytime soon. For example, the Bucks, 76ers, and Heat essentially have their entire teams out. This has become a necessary step in today’s NBA to keep these guys healthy for the playoffs, but this is absolutely brutal for fans, especially those spending time and money to see their favorite teams and players.
